The Radar Discrepancy and the Yturria Objection

Jaime Maussan's Role and the Broader Credibility Problem

Jaime Maussan's involvement is inseparable from how this case reached, and has continued to be understood by, the public. It was Maussan, not SEDENA, who characterized the footage as evidence of a landmark government-endorsed UFO encounter; it was Maussan who conducted the crew's on-record interviews before any independent technical analysis existed; and it was Maussan whom Gen. Vega García personally selected as the recipient of unanalyzed military sensor data, over any credentialed scientific institution. Per SEDENA's own later admission in response to a Mexican government transparency request, "no written information is available regarding the delivery of the video, since it was provided personally to Jaime Maussan Flota" — meaning the case's entire chain of custody, from military sensor to public broadcast, rests on an undocumented personal handoff rather than any formal, auditable release process.
