The Incident

At approximately 12:30 AM on September 19, 1976, residents of the Shemiran district in northern Tehran began calling the Imperial Iranian Air Force command post to report a bright, unusual object in the night sky. First Intercept Attempt

The Weapons Failure

As Jafari continued his approach, a smaller, brightly lit object detached from the main craft and moved toward his F-4 at high speed.
